Yes, we are open the whole year through excluding weekends and statutory holidays.
Yes, we run a year-round program and also offer summer programs during the months of July and August for school-aged children in those centres that have out of school care programs. Anyone can participate in our summer programming and your child does not need to be a current student to register. Contact your chosen centre directly to get pricing and details.
Our current fees are posted on our KITA Academy Prices page, including the parent portion after Alberta’s Affordability Grant. Fees can vary slightly by centre and age group.
KITA Academy realizes that schedules can vary by household, and the need for full-time childcare doesn't exist in all circumstances. We do offer part-time care for our families on a 2 or 3 days a week basis in order to accommodate those circumstances. Please enquire about your center of choice here regarding the availability of part-time care.
You have the option to be put on our waitlist for the next available opening if you choose. Based on availability, you may also be able to attend another centre while you wait for a spot to open at your chosen one.
The waitlist is maintained in chronological order and managed by our Client Services team. There is no fee to be placed on the waiting list. When a space becomes available, a family is contacted by email and given a specified time frame, typically 24 hours, to accept the space and start date. To secure an offered space, you will be required to pay a non-refundable registration fee and a deposit that is applied to your child’s last month’s fees. You remain on the centre’s waiting list until you ask to be removed, or until you do not respond to an offer or a request to confirm you wish to remain.
Families provide their child’s meals and snacks each day. At mealtimes, our educators follow a family-style approach — sitting with the children, encouraging healthy eating habits and social skills, and keeping our spaces allergy-aware.
Yes. We do not allow nuts in our centres — children may not bring snacks or foods containing nuts, inclusive of all tree nuts.
Yes. Because families provide their child’s meals and snacks, we work closely with you to keep mealtimes safe. Our educators are informed of every child’s allergies, follow your guidance, and keep our spaces allergy-aware.

Yes. Our centres participate in Alberta’s Affordability Grant, which reduces the fees families pay. Our Grande Prairie centre offers the Affordability Grant; our Edmonton (Heritage Valley) centre offers both the Affordability Grant and the provincial child care subsidy. Income-tested subsidy is administered by the province directly, not through our centres. See our fees page for current rates.
